Biography: Kro Vargas (Krocaine)
For New York City-born and Miami-raised artist, Kro Vargas, nails and art have been part of life since day one. Vargas, known online as Krocaine, started out charging her family $5 for a manicure and customised everything she owned with her art. She has since brought her two loves together and built a growing empire around her custom nails. “I have been doing my own nails and designs for a really long time and decided right after high School that I wanted to showcase my art through nails,” Krocaine told Vogue in 2020.
With 123k followers on Instagram, a column in Dazed Beauty and clients, such as rappers, Rico Nasty and La Goony Chonga, and singer, Rosalía, Krocaine has been called a trendsetter, and for good reason. Her Iconic Fiji Water Bottle nails first blew up on social media in 2016 and took an eye-watering 12 hours to create—excuse the pun. Krocaine’s signature style is equal parts intricate, detailed and ostentatious, all of which she will bring to her first collaboration with Australian Instant Acrylics™ brand, Très She.
